For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory shall be seen on you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
Contemplation
The word of the Lord is majestic, powerful and glorious. What a mighty God we serve? At the command of the Lord, amazing victory begin to manifest. The Lord has given us grace to go from one degree of glory to another. It may look like not much will happen, but when we step out in the name of the Lord, amazing things begin to fall in place. Once we have the opportunity to encounter the blessings of the Lord, beautiful things begin to fall into place. When we learn to follow the leading of the Lord, unusual victories begin to take shape. When the Lord gives us the grace to arise, without doubt, nothing can hinder us. It is the presence of the Lord that gives us the boldness to shine. That glory of the Lord without doubt, makes the glory to be revealed in all the earth.
In verse 2 of Isaiah 60, the word of the Lord began to open our understanding to behold greater things. It says,
“For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory shall be seen on you.”
This is indeed amazing. We have seen the manifestation of darkness in terrible ways as it tries to cover the earth. The word of the Lord identifies this as dense darkness coming upon the people. But the Lord went on to make us see that the glory of the Lord our God shall be revealed upon all and the power of the Lord will be made manifest. Hallelujah!
When this begin to fall into place, the word of the Lord in chapter 3 says,
“And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
Hallelujah to our God and King. Only by the power of the Lord would we be able to come and see nations come into the light. When nations are drawn to the light, then amazing things beyond imagination will definitely follow. As we are opportune to also see kings rising up to the brightness of our rising. What a glorious God we serve.
Practical issues
The Lord our God has given us the ability to enter into a greater degree of glory, if we would let the Lord have His way, unusual glory will be made manifest in our lives. Shalom!
