Who are these who fly like a cloud, and like doves to their windows? Surely the isles and distant coastlands shall wait for and expect Me; and the ships of Tarshish [shall come] first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and gold with them, for the name of the Lord your God, for the Holy One of Israel, because He has beautified and glorified you. Foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you; for in My wrath I smote you, but in My favor, pleasure, and goodwill I have had mercy, love, and pity for you. And your gates shall be open continually, they shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations—and their kings led in procession [your voluntary captives].
Contemplation
Who is there like unto our God, from the rising of the sun to its going down, the name of the Lord is to be praised again and again. The Lord rules and reign from one generation to another. What a mighty and glorious God we serve? The word of the Lord went on to ask us this mighty question from Isaiah 60 verse 8,
“Who are these who fly like a cloud, and like doves to their windows?”
In a sense this looks like angelic beings from one dimensions and again it can be compared to a group of people in a flight traveling from one place to another, that can be viewed as doves (people) that can be seen on the windows of an airplane. It seems to look right, but only the Lord knows the correct interpretation.
In verse 9, the word of the Lord went on to say,
“Surely the isles and distant coastlands shall wait for and expect Me; and the ships of Tarshish [shall come] first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and gold with them, for the name of the Lord your God, for the Holy One of Israel, because He has beautified and glorified you.”
This without doubt speaks of men traveling in a mighty ship to bring the people of God who are blessed with silver and gold. This also speaks of a return with great value that enriches them in the name of the Lord their God, who happens to be the Holy One of Israel. This is simply because they have seen the name of the Lord beautify and glorified in amazing ways . Hallelujah!
Again, the word of the Lord went on to tell us in verse 10 that,
“Foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you; for in My wrath I smote you, but in My favor, pleasure, and goodwill I have had mercy, love, and pity for you.”
This has been made manifest in different ways, showing us that various kings from different part of the world will be glad to minister to the people of God in Israel. When the people of Israel went against the plan of God, they experience the wrath of the Lord, but when the favor of the Lord was released upon them, the blessings was made manifest.
When the blessings of the Lord was revealed upon the land, the prophetic word of the Lord was given from verse 11,
“And your gates shall be open continually, they shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations—and their kings led in procession [your voluntary captives].”
This tells us that a greater glory awaits the land of Israel and this is the reason why we must live to the praise and glory of the Lord. For the wealth of nations and their kings will be glad to come in to submit themselves to the divine authority of God. What a beautiful manifestation this will be.
Practical issues
Beloved, there is a greater day coming, where all of these and much more will be made manifest to the praise and glory of God. Thank You Jesus for greater things awaits us your people. Shalom!
